  • Giving and payment details (such as donation amounts and transaction confirmations). Payment card/bank details are processed by third-party payment providers; the Church generally does not store full payment card or full bank account numbers.
  • Messages you send us (such as email inquiries, form submissions, prayer requests, or support requests).

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data (such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP).
  • Cookies and similar technologies that help our pages function and help us understand how visitors use our site (see Section 8).

ChurchTrac note: Our website and certain church services may be provided through ChurchTrac. Information entered into ChurchTrac is managed at the direction of the Church. For privacy requests (access, correction, deletion), please contact the Church first (see Section 11).

  • Provide ministry services and support church operations (member care, communications, events, registrations, and pastoral follow-up).
  • Administer giving, issue receipts/records, and maintain financial accountability.
  • Communicate service information, ministry updates, schedule changes, reminders, and important announcements.

  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Text Messaging (SMS/MMS) Privacy & Consent

If you opt in to receive text messages from Magnolia Church of God of Prophecy, we may send SMS/MMS messages using a messaging provider such as Twilio (including through A2P 10DLC-registered messaging routes).

A. Opt-in consent

  • We only message mobile numbers for which we have appropriate consent (opt-in) to receive texts from the Church.
  • Consent may be collected through a web form checkbox, paper form, keyword opt-in, or another clear method that explains what you will receive.
  • Consent to receive messages is not a condition of giving or participation.

B. Message content, frequency, and rates

  • Messages may include ministry updates, event reminders, schedule changes, and church announcements.
  • Message frequency varies based on church activities and your selections/preferences.
  • Message & data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.

C. Opt-out and help

  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. After you opt out, you will no longer receive text messages unless you opt in again.
  • For help, reply HELP or contact the Church using the information in Section 11.

D. Mobile data sharing limitation

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data for third-party marketing. We may share limited data with service providers (such as Twilio) only to deliver messages, maintain compliance, prevent abuse, and support messaging operations.

4. When We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share personal information only as needed in the following situations:

  • Service providers who help us operate our website and ministry systems (for example, ChurchTrac for church management and communications; payment processors for online giving; and Twilio for SMS/MMS delivery).
  • Legal and safety when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the Church and our community.
  • With your direction when you request a specific sharing of information or give explicit permission.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to support ministry operations, maintain accurate records, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and comply with legal obligations. We also maintain opt-in/opt-out records to demonstrate consent for text messaging compliance.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure; however, we work with reputable providers and follow prudent security practices.
